a lover

If I could catch the green lantern of the firefly,

I could see to write you a letter.

If I could tame the ferocious sea,

I could wash those long darkling hair.

If I could get drenched in the morning dew of the leaves,

I could muster the memories of your touch.

If I could encapsulate the shine of the moon,

I could see your lustrous face.

If I could wrest the essence of the red rose,

I could opiate on your incense.

If I could make the sea shells have black pearls inside,

I could sink in your majestic eyes.

If I could find something more satiny than satin,

I could feel your skin against rough mine.

If I could hold a cuckoo bird to singing,

I could savor the mollifying sound of your voice.

If I could catch the green lantern of the firefly,

I could see to write you a letter.
